LLyn Cau lies in a stunning cwm (a valley or steep-sided hollow) below Cadair Idris. Rising above the far shore are Craig Cau and the first rays of the sun is touching their tops. I love to paint the golden, sometimes ruddy, glow that comes with the first few moments of daybreak. Today, the timing was perfect; I arrived at the lake shore just as the light arrived and within a few moments the swirl of mist that had just appeared to the right had started to fill the entire cwm with a thick fog.
