After an early start, I'd made my up to the top of Moelfre at the northern end of the Carneddau mountains. Looking south, my next destination, Foel-fras, was aglow with the first light of dawn. By the time I got there the clouds, which at this moment were simply creating an atmospheric backdrop to the mountain, had descended and shrouded both me and the summit in a dense blanket of fog.
