Pastels are a fantastic art medium for just 'having a go'. No expensive outlay, no specialist equipment, no worrying about drying times, no paint mess and best of all you can use an eraser to wipe out your mistakes and try again. In this video, I talk you through the materials I use for my own pastel paintings and show you step-by-step how to complete a relatively straightforward landscape painting.
im an old boy called roy who liked doing a spot of watercolour in the pre kid era!! Having a tad more time on my hands I was thinking of resurrecting me artyness (my term!) and re exploring the hill of wonderous wales again.
You have spurned me on into getting into landscape creation using pastels....flipping brilliant explanation and execution.....esp the final sequences where the landscape pops and comes to life...ace!! and amazing what a few pastels can achieve...thanks again Dave
you should set up some sessions in the field....how wonderful to wander up a mountain with a box of pastels etc and have some instruction in situ.....just a thought
cheers again for sharing ROY in sheffield ( mobi 07928232400)
