My Pastel Workshops
 
My fun and relaxing workshops take place in the fabulous setting of Glasfryn Hall, North Wales. This fine country house is my home, gallery and studio and enjoys spendid splendid views of the Clwydian hills. 

Situated in pretty Caerwys, the venue is just two minutes from the A55 North Wales Expressway, meaning that it is easily accessible from all of north and mid-Wales, Liverpool, Manchester and Cheshire. Flint mainline station (direct trains from London) is 20 minutes away.

I offer two types of workshop; one for complete beginners and one for people with some previous experience of using pastels.

Beginners Workshop

Learn all about painting with pastels and then use them to create your own masterpiece! 
 
My beginners pastel workshops involve groups of no more than six people. We'll spend some time learning about pastels and trying out the basic techniques for using them. Then we'll move onto completing a painting, working from photographs that I'll provide. I'll paint from the front and you'll follow me step-by-step.

At the end of the day we'll set your painting in a mount and send you away with a goody bag.

Everything you need for the workshop is provided, including professional standard artist's materials, lunch and refreshments. 

Most participants are complete beginners, so don't worry if you have no artistic experience.

Improvers Workshop

My improvers workshops are for people who've used pastels before but are looking to develop their skills. You might be someone who's just started out on your pastel journey or you might be a more established artist who is keen to pick up some new tips and tricks from another pastellist.

Improvers workshops involve groups of no more than 4 people. We'll spend the day completing a painting together from photographs. Each workshop will have a different theme and I'll usually advertise the painting that we'll be completing on the booking page.

Everything you need for the workshop is provided, including professional standard artist's materials, lunch and refreshments. You are welcome to bring your own pastels too.

Private Tuition

I also provide private tuition, here at Glasfryn Hall or at your own home. This is tailored to your own wishes and includes all materials and light refreshments. Lunch is also provided if you book a full day.

The price for one-to-one tuition is £50 an hour, reduced to £45 if you book 6 hours or more. The minimum session length is two hours.

If you'd like to bring someone else (one-to-two tuition), the price is £60 an hour, reduced to £55 if you book six hours or more.
