About the Event
Learn all about pastels and how to paint with them in the fabulous setting of Glasfryn Hall, a fine country house on the edge of the Clwydian hills, North Wales.
This one-day workshop is perfect if you have no, or limited, experience of using pastels. They are a really accessible art medium so it doesn't matter if you haven't done any painting before or are someone who already enjoys working in other media but would like to give pastels a try. Whatever your level, you will learn new tips and tricks and by the end of the day you will have completed your own masterpiece to take home with you!
The workshop will take place in a fun and relaxing atmosphere with just a small group of participants (maximum of 6). Glasfryn Hall is the home and studio of your host, Dave Roberts, a professional pastel artist who specialises in painting the landscapes of North Wales. Consequently, the focus of the workshop will also be on landscape painting.
Unlike similar workshops, you don't need to buy any materials before you come - all equipment, paper and pastels of the highest quality will be provided, as will lunch and a constant supply of light refreshments.
The workshop is suitable for ages 12+.
Glasfryn Hall is just 4 minutes off the A55 North Wales Expressway and is less than an hour from Liverpool and Manchester by car. Flint train station (west coast mainline) is 20 minutes away.
Within the grounds of Glasfryn Hall is Oriel Glasfryn Gallery, displaying the work of 35 Welsh artists and makers.
Don't forget: If you are booking more than one place, or have been to one of my workshops before, enter the code "Multi-buy" at checkout to receive a 10% discount.
Renoir, Degas, Picasso, Cassatt and Toulouse-Lautrec all painted with pastels - come and discover this fantastic medium for yourself.
